This week, I was reminded that I have been to Syria 9 years ago. In general, one of the things that impressed me most was the peaceful co-existence of Christian and Muslim communities all over the mountain site in the west of Syria. The monastery of Deir Mar Musa al-Habashi represents both in one and has one of the most beautiful churches I have seen in my life. With interior of a mosque, the paintings of a church, the bible written in Arabic letters, the Arabic calligraphy forming the Holy Spirit … This is a mystique place where Orient and Okzident meet.
